It’s with great plea­sure that we invite you to join us for the 19th Annual Best Buy Charity Classic. This two-day golf tour­na­ment, fish­ing tour­na­ment, and gala fea­tur­ing a silent auc­tion, din­ner and con­cert, is sched­uled for June 13 and 14, 2012. The event involves more than 3,000 Best Buy employ­ees and ven­dors who come together in sup­port of the Best Buy Children’s Foundation.

The Best Buy Children’s Foundation was founded in 1994 to improve the qual­ity of life of school-aged chil­dren in com­mu­ni­ties Best Buy served, tar­get­ing lead­er­ship and men­tor­ing pro­grams and pro­vid­ing camper­ship oppor­tu­ni­ties through non-profit pro­grams. In 2008, the Foundation and Best Buy focused our strat­egy on teens for an impor­tant rea­son – research has shown that finan­cial sup­port for ado­les­cents is lower than at any other stage in a child’s life.

Today, the Best Buy Children’s Foundation works with non­profit orga­ni­za­tions to sup­port pro­grams that cre­ate oppor­tu­ni­ties for teens through tech­nol­ogy. Our goal is to empower teens to explore how tech­nol­ogy inter­sects with their inter­ests, build 21st cen­tury skills, and inspire col­lege majors and career choices.

Our com­mit­ment to the Foundation – and more impor­tantly the teens who ben­e­fit from the pro­grams we sup­port – has never been stronger. The Best Buy Charity Classic con­tin­ues to be our most impor­tant annual fundrais­ing event. Your sup­port enables us to make a greater impact in our com­mu­ni­ties and in the lives of teens.
