This two-day golf tournament, fishing tournament, and gala featuring a silent auction, dinner and concert, is scheduled for June 13 and 14, 2012. The event involves more than 3,000 Best Buy employees and vendors who come together in support of the Best Buy Children’s Foundation.
The Best Buy Children’s Foundation was founded in 1994 to improve the quality of life of school-aged children in communities Best Buy served, targeting leadership and mentoring programs and providing campership opportunities through non-profit programs. In 2008, the Foundation and Best Buy focused our strategy on teens for an important reason – research has shown that financial support for adolescents is lower than at any other stage in a child’s life.
Today, the Best Buy Children’s Foundation works with nonprofit organizations to support programs that create opportunities for teens through technology. Our goal is to empower teens to explore how technology intersects with their interests, build 21st century skills, and inspire college majors and career choices.
Our commitment to the Foundation – and more importantly the teens who benefit from the programs we support – has never been stronger. The Best Buy Charity Classic continues to be our most important annual fundraising event. Your support enables us to make a greater impact in our communities and in the lives of teens.
